Bob finished installing the cork flooring in the basement and it looks GREAT. We had a party a few weeks ago an asked people to vote on what they preferred, the winner is shown below.
We can see a forest fire from our house. It is burning 3000-4000 acres near Estacada, OR, about 30 miles south of us. Here is what it looked like yesterday...amazing how much smoke it puts into the atmosphere.
We have a new beekeeper! Meet Belal Sejouk. Belal is our son for one year while he goes to school in Camas as a senior in high school. He is an exchange student from Libya and hopes to someday have a career in software development. He is bright, polite, very good looking, and loves everything about America. I asked him so far had anything not been so good about his time here (he arrived one month ago) he said "what's not to like?" :) We like his attitude and his sense of adventure and humor. He will move in with us when we return from our vacation next week.
Looks like things are "hummin'" at the Ponds (pun intended), both in the honey factoryt and basement construction departments. Congrats to Bob on his progress on that massive project. (Maybe it doesn't seem so massive after his first - the building of the place to begin with.)
